Rite Aid Wellness Plus Program and This Week's Deals

A little while ago, Rite Aid  rolled out a new rewards program nation wide.  Now, to get the special sales prices, you will need to have them scan your Wellness card.  Make sure to sign up and get yours!  In addition to getting sale prices, the Wellness card enables you to print special coupons that come through email plus it allows you to earn points toward special rewards such as a 20% off shopping pass.

Rite Aid also just started their +UP rewards program.   When you purchase certain items, a reward will print on your receipt to use next time in the store.

Deals I Did Today

Today I got to go shopping with just Baby who slept the whole time!  I took my bazillion inserts and did some deals!  See this previous post to learn how to get these coupons for yourself.  Here's what I did:

Rite Aid:

• Gillette ProFusion razor - $9.99 - I used the $4 coupon from the 6/6 P&G plus got the $5 rebate, so $.99 for a razor = not too shabby!
• Gillette Body Wash - I bought 2 at $2.99 each.  I used the BOGO Free coupon from the 6/6 P&G and also got $2.99 as a rebate.

CVS:

• Gillette ProFusion razor - got a RAINCHECK since they were out of stock. (limit is actually 2 but must be done in separate transactions to get extra bucks)  $9.97 with $5 extra bucks.  I have several $4 coupons from 6/6 P&G.  $.97 for razors = not bad!
• SoBe - 10 for $10.  I LOVE this stuff!  I had wonderful friends print me extra copies of the bogo free coupon (you can print it here).  I left a few on the shelf - I was just able to get 6, but I will be back later this week!
• John Frieda Root Awakening - $5 each.  Buy $10 worth and get $3 extra bucks.  (limit is actually 5 rather than 1).  I used the $3/1 coupon from the 6/6 Smart Source and got each for $.50!
• Gillette (or Old Spice) Body Wash - $4 with $4 extra bucks.  I used the BOGO Free coupon from the 6/6 P&G to get 2 free!
• Schick Hydro 5 razor - got a RAINCHECK since they were out of stock.  $8.97 with $4 extra bucks.  I have the $5 coupon from today's paper so FREE!

Last Chance Deals and Coupons week of 5/23/2010

Wow - these last few weeks have been rough.  I think I am finally on the mend and feeling human.  I managed to get both boys bathed and in bed all by myself!  I'm still a little weak and a little sore, but all the other issues (stomach flu, dehydration, stitches, etc) are resolving.  My brain is starting to feel less foggy as well!  I have my wonderful hubby to thank - he's been taking the night shift with Buggy, taking diaper duty at night with Baby, and waking up at dawn with Buggy and letting me sleep as long as I like!  What a fantastic hubby!

With all that said, I think I will be able to do a few small deal trips this weekend!  My Aldi's plan was foiled because of a stomach flu relapse, so this will be the first deal hunting trip since EASTER!!!!

Since we are approaching the end of the month, make sure you print out coupons before they are pulled or reset!  Add coupons to your shopper card before new coupons are added.  Last minute coupon printing is a great way to increase your coupon arsenal!  At the start of each month, companies will release new printable coupons or will reset the print limits on past coupons.  If you print at the end of the month and the limits reset at the start of the month, you can print more in just a few days!

Weekly Deal Highlights 5/9/10

• Right Guard Deodorant moneymaker - Right Guard deodorant is $2.99 each with $2 Extra Bucks (limit 2)

It's time to prepare for a GREAT sale on Cover Girl makeup at Rite Aid!  Starting the week of 5/2, Cover Girl makeup will be Buy One Get One FREE.  To get it ALL free, get your hands on some Buy One Get One FREE coupons from a recent insert.  My Coupon Hunter has these for $.25 each, so when you use one of these coupons, the coupon reimburses the store the cost of one product while the store chose to have a sale to give the other free.  You use the coupon and get TWO products for free (or for just the $.25 from My Coupon Hunter). 

You DEFINITELY want to order coupons QUICKLY - as word of this sale gets out, clipping services will begin running out of coupons and ebay auctions will become quite expensive.

To make this Cover Girl deal sweeter, P&G is offering a rebate where when you buy $30 of P$G products, you get a $30 coupon book and the Cover Girl products are included!

Deals I Would Do This Week - 4/25/2010

Since I am still sequestered to my house (I'm 35 weeks pregnant now and hardly any contractions!!!), I can only dream of the deals I would do.  I wanted to highlight a deal or two at the stores in our area that I would definitely do this week!  Maybe YOU can benefit from these deals!

DIAPERS!
Target has diapers on sale this week - Huggies and Pampers Jumbo packs are on sale for $8.99 and when you buy 3 packs, you get a $5 gift card.  That means, without any other coupons, after the gift card (you have to wait to use the GC until another transaction though), your total would be $7.23 per jumbo pack.  Add in some coupons for extra savings!  I have gotten many mailers with $1.50 off Pampers plus have seen them in recent inserts.  Also, Huggies put out the $3/1 pack coupons (expire REALLY soon, so use right away) and there have been coupons in recent inserts.  My Coupon Hunter has both Pampers and Huggies coupons in stock (though to get the Pampers before they expire on the 30th, you may want to do a rush order - she ships from FL).  ALSO, Target recently offered a $1.50/1 pack Huggies coupon that can be stacked.  It is not available for print right now, but keep your eyes peeled in case they offer this one up again.  View all Target coupons here.

Fig Newtons are on sale for $1 this week at CVS.  Become a fan of Fig Newtons on Facebook and get a coupon for $1 off Fig Newtons making them FREE!

Pampers jumbo packs are printing $1 extra care bucks on jumbo packs (limit one).  $8.49 sale price minus $1 ECB = $7.49 - any coupon you have.....

Schick Quattro - $8.99 with $4 extra bucks.  There is a $4 coupon in this week's Smart Source insert which would make this $.99 after coupon and extra bucks.

Rite Aid brand Tugaboos diapers and overnites are on sale for $7.99/jumbo pack (36 diapers in size 3 pack) and qualifies for a $2 rebate.  Limit one.

There is an upcoming deal on Aveeno Lotion at Rite Aid.  This deal starts 4/25 but it includes a coupon that’s currently available. 
Starting on 4/25 there will be a single check rebate offer: Get $5 back when you buy three Aveeno products. Then, next week there will be a Rite Aid in-ad coupon for $2/1 Aveeno.  Here’s how to combine the coupons and the SCR to make money on this deal:

Sunglasses and Rite Aid Rebates

Hi all!  Posts may be few and far between - my computer is sick.  I can use our desktop but can't do the steps multiple times per day to get to it.

With summer coming, you'll want to make sure you have enough sunglasses!  I know how easy it is to misplace them - especially how quickly kids' sunglasses disappear.  Well, here's a solution.  Graveyard Mall is offering 10 pair of kids' sunglasses for $14.99 shipped!

This week begins the February rebates for Rite Aid's Single Check Rebates program.  Some items will qualify for more than one rebate to increase your savings!  Here are some highlights for this week:

Watch short videos online for in-store coupons.  When you accrue enough points from watching videos, you will also get a $5/$20 coupon!  Pair these coupons (as long as barcode has RA in it which signifies a store coupon) with manufacturer coupons!

Start checking forums for more matchups and even more ways to save.  A favorite of mine  - A Full Cup.

Here is a coupon for $5/$25 purchase at Rite Aid.  Make sure to give this coupon first, before any other coupons so that the register will accept it!  Once other coupons come off, your total may fall below the $25 threshold.  While it is fine to use the $5/$25 coupon with other coupons and when the after coupon total goes below $25, the registers don't like it!

Diaper Deals, Pepsi, and Toilet Paper

Well, we have been scraping the bottom of the barrel as far as toilet paper goes!  We were down to just a couple rolls of the store brand single ply partial sandpaper stuff.  No longer!  I did 2 great deals yesterday and we are set for at least a month or two.  Also, prepare for even more great diaper deals coming up by printing these high value Huggies coupons - just click through the picture!  Hurry - these will reach their print limits quickly!



Target:

•  Target has Charmin 24 TRIPLE roll packs for just $17.99.  That breaks down to 72 single rolls so that's $.25 per roll.  That is the max price I will pay for toilet paper.  Well, I combined that sale price with a $1 coupon from a P&G booklet and paired that with a $.75 Target coupon from a recent insert.  That brought the cost down to just over $.22 per roll.  Not too shabby for the really good stuff.
• Target also has a few deals on Pampers and Luvs.  I didn't do either of these since they just were too much out of pocket for me, but if you are in a diaper crunch, this may be the deal for you.   
• LUVS big pack of diapers (box) is on sale for $16.99.  When you buy 2, you get a $5 gift card.  I know there are some $1 coupons out there from mailers and some of you may still have the $5 coupon from a mailing several months back.  Without coupons, each box would be $14.49 (diaper count varies by size).
• Pampers boxes were around $25 each.  There are Target coupons for $1 to $2 off from a recent insert plus P&G coupons for $1 to $2 off depending on region.  If you are loyal to Pampers, pairing both coupons could get you a decent deal.

 CVS

• What a week to stock up on Pepsi!  12 pack cans are on sale 3 for $10 with $10 extra bucks back when you buy $20 worth.  Here's the deal I did yesterday:  I bought 6 packs for $20.  I used the $5/$20 coupon here (there are no restrictions on area useage and it worked great for me).  I used $8 extra bucks that I had already (scan your card at the kiosk when you go in as the winter spending extra bucks are printing now).  I paid $7 out of pocket (would have been $15 if I had no extra bucks) and got $10 in extra bucks back.  Not too bad as it is - just $1.67 per 12-pack.  Make the deal even sweeter with the Pepsi rebate here.  Make sure you read the fine print to be sure your state is participating.
• More toilet paper!  Charmin bathroom tissue is on sale for $12.99 with $4 extra bucks for the 20 double roll packs.  I had a few other items to get, so I got my total above $20 to use the $5/$20 coupon plus I used the $.25 coupon from the latest P&G insert.  

Rite Aid

• Rite Aid has an awesome new promotion called Grab the Gold.  Purchase $100 worth of participating P&G products and get a $35 Visa Rewards card, spend $50 for a $15 card, and $25 for a $5 card.  These amounts are BEFORE coupons!  Make the savings sweeter by watching videos and printing coupons through their Video Values program here.  Also, make sure to use this great $5/$25 coupon as well!
  
• Hip2Save has some great scenarios worked out to get to the $100 mark.
• Here is another scenario for just diapers and one filler item if you have multiple coupons:  Buy (1) 82 Count (Based on size 4) Pampers $19.99
use $5.00/$20.00 Video Values coupon
 use $2.00/1 Pampers in 12/27 P&G
  $12.99 Out of Pocket
  $19.99 towards rebate.  Do this four more times and your total (separate transactions) will be $99.xx.  Purchase one other qualifying item to get your total to $100 (remember, before coupons!) and you will have paid about $65 out of pocket but will get $35 back.  So, after the rebate, your total for 410 diapers will be just $30.  That would be just about $.07 per diaper!

How to Use Those Found Coupons

So, now you know some great ways to find coupons.  Now, how can 25 cents here and there really make a difference?  Here are a few pointers to get you started.  In a typical grocery shopping trip, I spend $40 and save $20.  If you are just joining in today, you can read my recent posts regarding where to find coupons here and here.

Coupon Savings Tips:

• Make a plan.  Decide what meals will be eaten this week.  Decide what paper goods you will need.  Use store circulars to find what items are on sale and plan meals around those sales.  
• Make a list.  List what items you need to purchase.  I find it helpful to sift through my coupons as I make this list.  I make a note or a mark by each item that I have a coupon for.    Print lists of coupons that are loaded on your shopper card and notate those on the list as well.  Remember, you can pair paper coupons with electronic coupons.
  
• Get coupons ready. I have an envelope for each store I will visit in a given day.  I put the coupons I plan to use in those envelopes.  I do carry all my coupons with me because I am notorious for forgetting something important.
• Stick to the list.  Those impulse items can really add up!
• Have an idea what your post-coupon total should be.  I carry a small calculator with me.  As I shop, I simply add the cost of items as I add them to my cart.  Before checkout, I organize my coupons and subtract the coupon amounts from my order total.  It isn't an exact science (doesn't figure in tax) but it helps prevent scanning errors or alert me to them so they can be corrected.  
• Double check the receipt.  On one Kroger trip, I had a coupon for a free item.  The cashier was too lazy to look up the amount so he simply entered $.20 as the amount.  I was tending to Little Man and didn't notice at the time, but looked at my receipt quickly as we left.  Well, my Kroger would have doubled it, so I definitely looked at the receipt more closely.  I took the receipt to customer service and they told me to keep that $.20 and handed me the total amount of the free item in cash.
• Don't be afraid of customer service.  They are usually more than happy to help.  When you use a coupon, the store gets reimbursed for the full amount of the coupon plus a little bit extra to cover processing.  
• Consider buying toiletries at places other than the grocery store.  By shopping at Rite Aid and CVS, I have gotten many bottles of shampoo, shave gel, and tubes of toothpaste for free by using their reward systems.
