Swagbucks Update, $100 P&G Coupons, Laundry Coupons, New Week Savings Scenarios

Ok - I goofed.  In my Friday post about Mega-Swagbucks Friday, I mentioned the special and very lucrative Swagbucks birthday and I got the date wrong.  In that previous post, I mentioned the birthday as being Feb. 22nd.  It is ACTUALLY February 25th, according to the Swagbucks site.  Make sure you spend some time online that day!  There will be many codes coming out that day for free bucks!  If you have no idea what Swagbucks is, check out that previous post for a detailed explanation.  I've earned $15 in Amazon gift cards just in February so far!  I am waiting for another $5 to clear at the end of the month.

 I love Proctor and Gamble!  They have great products, offer high value coupons, sponsor great events such as the Olympics, and are now promoting family friendly programming!  P&G also has a rebate offer that is a great one to jump on!    Spend $50 in P&G products before April 1st and send in receipts.  Receive a coupon book worth $100!  To make this even better, the $50 total is BEFORE coupons are applied.  Click here for the details on this P&G Rebate.

Diaper Rebate Deadline Approaching

If you have any Huggies receipts from 2009, it's time to get them mailed to Caregivers Marketplace!  Here is a link to the 2009 form.  Note that only Jumbo size Huggies Snug & Dry, Little Movers, and Little Snugglers (formerly - Gentle Care) count.  Since diaper counts in packs have been dropping through the year, the diaper counts may not add up perfectly for you.

All you need to do is fill out the form and submit with original receipts with product circled.  Rebates must be postmarked by 1/31/10.  Note that the 31st is a SUNDAY, so get this done this week!

It appears that Huggies is not participating for 2010.  Keep checking to see if other diapers begin to participate.  The savings really adds up - $.75 per pack of diapers!

Upcoming Changes

Hi all!

I just wanted to announce a few changes that will be coming to this site - hopefully changes for the better!

I am in the process of creating a "couponing for beginners" link that will be on my sidebar all the time so it is easy to find at all times.  I am also rethinking the layout of the blog.

For now, you can use the search bar to search the site, use the categories about halfway down on the right to search by topic, or just browse.

For those of you who were at MOPS today and want the Pepsi rebate, just shoot me an email at penguinelk at yahoo dot com (just fix the formatting), and I'll send it out to you.  I am working on a link for a more current post.

Diaper Deals, Pepsi, and Toilet Paper

Well, we have been scraping the bottom of the barrel as far as toilet paper goes!  We were down to just a couple rolls of the store brand single ply partial sandpaper stuff.  No longer!  I did 2 great deals yesterday and we are set for at least a month or two.  Also, prepare for even more great diaper deals coming up by printing these high value Huggies coupons - just click through the picture!  Hurry - these will reach their print limits quickly!



Target:

•  Target has Charmin 24 TRIPLE roll packs for just $17.99.  That breaks down to 72 single rolls so that's $.25 per roll.  That is the max price I will pay for toilet paper.  Well, I combined that sale price with a $1 coupon from a P&G booklet and paired that with a $.75 Target coupon from a recent insert.  That brought the cost down to just over $.22 per roll.  Not too shabby for the really good stuff.
• Target also has a few deals on Pampers and Luvs.  I didn't do either of these since they just were too much out of pocket for me, but if you are in a diaper crunch, this may be the deal for you.   
• LUVS big pack of diapers (box) is on sale for $16.99.  When you buy 2, you get a $5 gift card.  I know there are some $1 coupons out there from mailers and some of you may still have the $5 coupon from a mailing several months back.  Without coupons, each box would be $14.49 (diaper count varies by size).
• Pampers boxes were around $25 each.  There are Target coupons for $1 to $2 off from a recent insert plus P&G coupons for $1 to $2 off depending on region.  If you are loyal to Pampers, pairing both coupons could get you a decent deal.

 CVS

• What a week to stock up on Pepsi!  12 pack cans are on sale 3 for $10 with $10 extra bucks back when you buy $20 worth.  Here's the deal I did yesterday:  I bought 6 packs for $20.  I used the $5/$20 coupon here (there are no restrictions on area useage and it worked great for me).  I used $8 extra bucks that I had already (scan your card at the kiosk when you go in as the winter spending extra bucks are printing now).  I paid $7 out of pocket (would have been $15 if I had no extra bucks) and got $10 in extra bucks back.  Not too bad as it is - just $1.67 per 12-pack.  Make the deal even sweeter with the Pepsi rebate here.  Make sure you read the fine print to be sure your state is participating.
• More toilet paper!  Charmin bathroom tissue is on sale for $12.99 with $4 extra bucks for the 20 double roll packs.  I had a few other items to get, so I got my total above $20 to use the $5/$20 coupon plus I used the $.25 coupon from the latest P&G insert.  

Rite Aid

• Rite Aid has an awesome new promotion called Grab the Gold.  Purchase $100 worth of participating P&G products and get a $35 Visa Rewards card, spend $50 for a $15 card, and $25 for a $5 card.  These amounts are BEFORE coupons!  Make the savings sweeter by watching videos and printing coupons through their Video Values program here.  Also, make sure to use this great $5/$25 coupon as well!
  
• Hip2Save has some great scenarios worked out to get to the $100 mark.
• Here is another scenario for just diapers and one filler item if you have multiple coupons:  Buy (1) 82 Count (Based on size 4) Pampers $19.99
use $5.00/$20.00 Video Values coupon
 use $2.00/1 Pampers in 12/27 P&G
  $12.99 Out of Pocket
  $19.99 towards rebate.  Do this four more times and your total (separate transactions) will be $99.xx.  Purchase one other qualifying item to get your total to $100 (remember, before coupons!) and you will have paid about $65 out of pocket but will get $35 back.  So, after the rebate, your total for 410 diapers will be just $30.  That would be just about $.07 per diaper!

• Melissa over at Melissa's Bargain Blog has created a list of what she will pay to stock items in her stockpile.  Remember that prices vary by region.  I found her list to be a super starting point.  I can watch the same items and make note of what the cheapest prices are in my stores.
• Here is a link to a coupon that will allow you to get double cash back (4% rather than 2%) on CVS brand items for this quarter.  Simply print and have it scanned!
• You can also enter the CVS double bucks information on your online account here.
• Here is a coupon for $5 off a $20 purchase at CVS - no restrictions on locations.
• Right around the superbowl each year, Pepsi has some great deals and rebates.  This year is no exception.  Here is a link to several rebates being offered.  Make sure to read all the details - some offers not good in all states.
• Glad trash bags are on sale at Target.  Pair this Target coupon with the $1 insert coupon many areas received and you have yourself a great deal.
• Print all Target coupons here.  Make sure to carry a copy of their coupon policy with you in case of problems.

Last night, I found a link for a silly pregnancy thing.  Supposedly, by entering some random information, this website will predict what your birth experience will be.  I got such a kick out of it!  Here's what mine said - I'd love to hear yours!

The day you deliver, outside will be overcast. Your baby will arrive in
the late morning.  After a labor lasting approximately 4 hours, your child, a boy, will be  born. Your baby will weigh about 13 pounds, 3 ounces, and will be 17inches long. This child will have light brown eyes and a lot of black hair.

Funny things - apparently I  am giving birth to a bowling ball.  Hubby and I both have bright blue eyes, so brown would DEFINITELY be a surprise!  I'm all for the 4 hours of labor thought!

Rebate Extravaganza

Right now, there are so many rebates up for grabs!  Rebates are a great way to get things free or nearly free (after the up-front cost).  When doing rebates, it helps to keep very detailed notes!  You may want to start with just one or two as you develop a system for making sure you have completed offers, mailed them in time, and then received the rebate check.  Make sure to keep copies of everything you mail.  It is helpful to tape all items onto one paper unless othewise requested.

Using the Internet to Save Money

Hi gang!

I wanted to share a few tips and tricks for online shopping and coupon hunting that may help you during this Christmas season.

First of all, I highly recommend forums for information on sales and coupon matchups.  The ones I use are all free sites.  Some of my favorites are:

• Slick Deals
• Hot Coupon World
• A Full Cup

When you join a forum community, plan on it taking a little while to find exactly how to maximize the site for your purposes.  I am just now finding which forums within the communities work best for me.  All three sites have region specific forums that can help when planning shopping trips since prices vary by region.

I also recommend printing coupons for items you will use.  I have a few sites that I love plus I have found one Slick Deals forum that is incredibly helpful as it lists all coupons that are out alphabetically with a guide to where to find these coupons!  So helpful when searching for deals on specific items!

For online shopping, I suggest you use rebate sites.  There are many to choose from!  Some sites give cash back, some sites give points back.  When I know what store I want to use, I compare the rewards between these companies and go with the highest rebate amount.  Here are some that I use:

• Shop at Home - Cash back rebate site.  Print coupons here for groceries, find online coupon codes, get cash back for purchases.  New members get $5 in their account if a purchase is made in 60 days.  Request a check once you hit $20!
• Ebates - Very similar to Shop at Home.  Has no grocery coupons.
• Mypoints - Get paid in points for online purchases.  Points can be redeemed for gift cards.  Read emails for points.  Review websites at their frogpond for points.  Report for campaigns for BzzAgent for points.  Earn points for playing games.
• Swagbucks - I love swagbucks!   I cash out at 45 swagbucks for a $5 amazon gift card.  Since April, I have received $100 in Amazon gift cards plus have $15 pending to clear this month!  Earn bucks by searching the internet.  Earn bucks by recycling/trading in old gear.  Earn 1 swagbuck for every $5 you spend  by shopping online through this site.
• RetailMeNot - This is a great site for online coupon codes!

Remember to use your shopper card at grocery stores to get extra savings.  Add electronic coupons to your card.  These ecoupons do not double like some paper coupons, but they can be paired with paper coupons for extra savings!

Whew!  I'm pooped!  Tomorrow morning, at 11am, we are having our home appraised.  We are in the process of refinancing to get a better interest rate and to use some equity to get rid of PMI (mortgage insurance).  So many wrenches keep flying into the works from major property tax issues to Hubby needing to work super long hours. Thankfully, my parents were able to come to visit this weekend to help get the house in order.  It's just too hard for me to do the deep cleaning right now with a toddler that NEVER stops moving!  We were able to work together to tag team watching Little Man while the others cleaned and de-cluttered!
