Target Price Matching Update

I was so excited when Target announced they will do price matching, however, it seems that they just don't quite know HOW they want to handle it yet.  It seems we need to watch their coupon policy site practically daily to catch all the tweaks.  Thank you, Deal Seeking Mom, for the heads up.

The latest update is that Target coupons will now be deducted BEFORE the price match.
Manufacturer Coupons:
Manufacturer coupons will be applied after the price match is made.

Target Coupons:
Target coupons will be applied before the price match is made. If the competitor price is still lower than the price after the Target coupon has been deducted, the ad match can be adjusted to match the competitor's price.

Combining both a Target and Manufacturer Coupons:
The Target coupon will be applied before the price match is made. If the competitor price is still lower than the price after the Target coupon has been deducted, the ad match can be adjusted to match the competitor's price. Once the price match is made the manufacturer coupon will be applied.

Reminder: We accept one manufacturer coupon and one Target coupon for the same item unless either coupon prohibits it.

Target does not ad match a competitors coupon-required offers.

Now, one good option for saving money at Target (and many other retailers) is to take advantage of price adjustments.  A price adjustment is when you take your receipt to Customer Service to receive a partial refund if you find an item you purchased dropped in price since you purchased said item.  Most stores have a limited number of days to do a price adjustment.  Target not only adjusts price for their own price changes, they will adjust to match competitor prices within 7 days of purchase.

What if I've already made the purchase at Target?

No problem. Within seven days of purchase, bring your Target receipt and the competitor 's current printed ad. We will reimburse the savings to you.

One exception to the price adjustments:  many stores, Target included, are not being clear if they will honor price adjustments for Black Friday deals.  Many stores will not honor those special sale prices for adjustments after the fact.  Contact specific stores and try to get your responses in written form in case you have a problem with a transaction.
